2011 marks the 100-year anniversary of Hay Market Lodge. Please join us in celebrating our centennial throughout the year through our monthly meetings and other events.
In 1802 the Grand Lodge of Virginia issued a charter to Hay Market Lodge No. 67. In 1820, due to changing demographics in and around Haymarket, the Lodge’s name was changed and moved out of Haymarket. The History of the current Hay Market Lodge begins officially on February 16, 1911 when the Grand Lodge of Virginia issued a charter to Drinkard Lodge No. 313 (named in honor of Most Worshipful Brother William F. Drinkard). Some years later the Lodge petitioned the Grand Lodge of Virginia to change the name to Hay Market Lodge (the first Lodge name in Haymarket).
